Brainstorming

When first going through and looking at what we can base our documentary on, we came up with a variety of ideas:
  • Food - different types of foods avaliable
  • Social networking - risks - cyber bullying
  • Fashion - how its changed through the years, old fashion coming back around
  • Music - concerts - specific artists - rise and fall
  • School - are exams getting easier in comparison to 15 years ago - O-Levels
  •  Weddings - different cultures e.g. indian, gypsy, african
  • Youth culture/crime - are teens committing more crimes than adults?
  • Unhealthy/healthy food - fast food restaurants
  • Exercise - are people getting enough exercise?
  • Young models - 16 and under
  • Cars & teenagers - insurance
  • Young fame - do people end up taking it too far?
  • Retail stores - shopping culture - how its changed
  • Cities - city culture
  • Footballers - the money behind it
  • Tattoo's - why they first came around
  • Youth holidays - 18-30 year olds
  • Alcohol abuse - are teenagers drinking more, and why?
  • Mental illnesses
  • Police - different types of things they have to deal with
  • Accidents in sport
  • Families - how things have changed
  • Travelling - do people still go sight seeing?
  • Security
We then had to narrow it down and decide which topic we'd most like to make a documentary on. Our chosen topic was food, we brainstormed and gathered different ideas.
We thought of pro's and con's of take away and put them into a mind-map, the idea's we collected were:
Pro's:
  • Quick and easy
  • Can sometimes be cheaper than making a full meal yourself from scratch
  • Efficient - in a rush and not having the time to cook
  • Allows you to try new styles of food from across the world/global foods avaliable at ease
Con's:
  • Some are made out to be healthy but they're actually not
  • Sometimes the ingrediants used aren't fresh produce, such as - processed meat, foods taken from frozen
  • Certain takeaway places are more expensive
  • High calorie and fat content
